When attempting to reduce home waste to zero there are always new challenges. Junk-Mail is the latest example. The idea
is to first reduce its volume by Return To Sender. This would involve contacting the Company to remove your name from their
list, using provided franked envelopes. Some of the retained envelopes can be reused, though it feels like "passing the buck".
The next stage is to separate the plastic film waste from envelopes and composting the useful paper. The plastic is
bin waste for now.
Home treatment would seem to be the smart way to avoid landfill of plastic waste. This requires new processes to break
down the plastic into useful product. Bokashi type processing could be one possibility.
